Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Crittr AI mobile application and related materials. By downloading, accessing, or using Crittr AI, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Crittr AI responsibly and lawfully. You will not:
- Use the app to harass, harm, or disturb people or animals.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the app or its services beyond normal personal use.
- Misrepresent identifications as professional, scientific, or official determinations.
- Use the app in violation of applicable wildlife protection laws, park rules, or property rights.
- Upload unlawful content or content you do not have rights to use.
We may suspend or discontinue access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.
Wildlife Safety
Wild animals can be unpredictable and dangerous. Crittr AI is for educational and recreational purposes only. You are solely responsible for your conduct around wildlife.
Do not approach, touch, feed, capture, or provoke wild animals. Maintain a safe distance, especially from mothers with young, venomous species, large mammals, and animals that appear sick or injured. Follow local laws, signage, and guidance from parks and wildlife authorities. In an emergency, seek safety first and contact appropriate local services.
Identification Accuracy
Automated and AI-assisted identifications may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Lighting, image quality, age of the animal, similar species, and regional variation can affect results. Crittr AI does not guarantee accurate species identification.
The app is not a substitute for professional biologists, veterinarians, pest-control experts, medical advice, or emergency services. Do not rely on the app for decisions that could affect health, safety, property, or compliance with regulations.
Apple and Third Parties
Crittr AI is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms and policies. Apple is not responsible for the app’s content, maintenance, or support obligations, except as required by law.
Optional features such as iCloud, CloudKit, or Game Center are provided by Apple and governed by Apple’s terms. See our Privacy Policy for how data may be handled.
No Warranty
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRITTR AI IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR DEVELOPERS, AFFILIATES, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF CRITTR AI.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (USD $50), IF YOU PAID NOTHING FOR THE APP.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the above limits apply only to the extent permitted.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the effective date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
